For complex and challenging environments where high throughput is required, FortnaDCOptimizer increases the intelligence of the WCS with advanced features.
o Dynamic Load Balancing. This module allows the Order Management module to modify routes dynamically, to better balance the load among multiple work areas
o Waveless Picking. This module provides a continuous flow of work through the warehouse, removing the need for change-overs and manual release of orders
o Pull-Based Orders. This module reduces the amount of recirculation by only releasing orders that have a destination available and ready. It is also powerful when there are intermediate staging points with limited size |

While the control of the conveyor is of utmost importance in routing containers through your warehouse, control of the work areas is just as important. The WCS includes many pre-built modules for just this type of work.
o Light-Directed Picking. This module handles the use of Pick-to-Light modules in both Pick and Put orientations
o Print-and-Apply. This module handles the application and verification of labels on the conveyor
o RF Picking. The WCS can manage any portion of the picking process, from the actual picks, down to simple acknowledgement that a WMS-based pick was complete. In addition, the RF terminals provide a strong tool for diagnostics and control of operations |
